Hello world!.

Welcome to the first in what will be a series of discussion papers published by Radical Independent Music about various aspects of the music industry, with a particular focus on Scotland.

With the results of the recent General Election still reverberating around Westminster, we thought it was an opportune time to publish again a research paper that was first posted in September 2012 regarding the impact of devolution on popular music policy in Scotland.

The intent is to update this paper before the 2016 Scottish Parliamentary Elections to reflect developments since the Autumn of 2012.

If you have insomnia you may have just found a novel new cure!

As always comments and feedback are welcome as the intent of these discussion papers is to stimulate debate, and to that end will often be deliberately provocative.
